This summer, instead of going to the malls (in particular, that giant mall that's killing pine trees and 'reclaiming' seas), explore and improve your appreciation of our heritage by going to the National Museum of the Philippines specifically the National Art Gallery (entrance is free).
The art gallery is home to several works of our National Artists (can you name a few?) with the central hall (my favorite) dedicated to the Masters, Hidalgo and Luna.
You don't have to be dependent on a guide to tour the museum. What you can do is to read on the artists prior to the visit. Make it part of improving your sense of culture and nationalism.
Believe me, it's worth the visit.
